PNHT is a collective of programmers and designers focused on mobile development, interface research, and custom systems. Our roots go back to the early days of mobile operating systems, where we explored custom firmware engineering, system modding, and user interface customization.
Our work has always been driven by a simple question: How can we make mobile systems more open, personal, and responsive to user needs?
Our Roots
In the Symbian and early mobile era, we worked directly with device operating systems to bypass software constraints, optimize memory performance, and build custom firmware interfaces. We developed and released projects like the Widgetizer and custom ROM layouts for devices such as the Nokia 5800 and Samsung Omnia series, allowing users to customize their home screens, multi-tasking screens, and system settings.
Through these projects, we built a passionate international community of testers and users who helped us refine and expand our software.

Also, I had a Widget recommendation: how about adding an Accelerometer Lock widget? We can do that by going into settings but having the option as a widget would be so much more cooler. Even better would be to integrate the Accelerometer Lock widget with the Multi-task window (the one that pops up when we long press the center white button on 5800).”
The Present Day
Today, PNHT operates as a digital laboratory and journal. While the hardware ecosystem has changed, our focus remains on the core principles of mobile UX, responsive design, performance optimization, and custom firmware architecture. We continue to publish our research, insights, and lab notes for fellow developers and designers.
